Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to provide high-quality support for an individual we care for in Leicester. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering personalised care, ensuring comfort, safety, and wellbeing. The role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with daily personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Supporting with medication administration in accordance with care plans
- Helping with meal preparation and feeding where necessary
- Monitoring and recording health conditions and reporting any concerns to senior staff
- Providing companionship and emotional support to <PERSON>
- Assisting with light domestic duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Following care plans accurately to meet individual needs
- Maintaining clear communication with colleagues, family members, and other healthcare professionals
- Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations at all times
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
- Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively
- Driving licence is advantageous for roles involving community visits or home care services
- Good IT skills for documentation purposes and communication tools
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required for effective communication with clients and team members
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrating empathy, patience, and professionalism at all times
- Some knowledge of Learning Disabilities, Autism.
- The individual enjoys playing on his Playstation, listening to music, wrestling and going out.
- There is a dog in the household, so you must be able to work around animals.
- You must be proactive with this individual and have good communication skills.
THIS INDIVIDUAL HAS 24/7 CARE HOWEVER THE SHIFTS ARE SPLIT.
