Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team at heatingsmart Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing gas systems within commercial premises. This role requires a strong technical background, practical skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of commercial gas systems to ensure optimal operation and safety.
- Install, repair, and service gas appliances, boilers, and associated equipment in accordance with legal regulations and safety standards.
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and plumbing tools to complete tasks efficiently.
- Perform mechanical tasks such as assembly, disassembly, and modification of components as required.
- Carry out heavy lifting and manoeuvre large or bulky equipment safely during installations or repairs.
- Undertake plumbing tasks related to gas systems, ensuring leak testing and compliance with safety protocols.
- Operate commercial vehicles for transportation of equipment or materials as necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of work carried out and report any issues or hazards promptly.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations at all times during operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial gas engineering or related mechanical fields.
- Competent in welding, carpentry, plumbing, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of complex systems within commercial environments.
- Ability to perform basic maths accurately for measurements and calculations related to installations or repairs.
- Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling techniques.
- Valid commercial driving licence is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of assembly processes relevant to gas systems or related equipment is advantageous.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
