Overview:
John Sisk & Son are delighted to be Recruiting a BIM Engineer to be based in our London office. The BIM Manager oversees the implementation of the Digital Project Delivery (DPD) across the projects within the nominated business unit. This role will provide support and leadership to implement, develop and manage a successful DPD strategy from Precontract all the way through the project delivery and handover.

Responsibilities:
Tender stage
-
Support the Precon team with the review of received tender documents (including Works Information, EIR, etc.) to identify Clients BIM and Digital requirements.

Attend Tender kick off meeting to discuss the DPD scenarios and proposed DPD strategy.

Support the Precon team with the development of Precontract BEP.

Ensure potential consultants and specialist designers are fully aware of their DPD responsibilities

Ensure Supply Chain Digital Capabilities (SCDC) are populated and scored.

Providing technical review of 3D BIM models received at tender stage for federation, engineering checks, clash detection, logistics and cost management.

Experience developing 4D BIM Construction Sequence.

Support the biding team with any BIM or digital enquiries to be included in the quality submission.

Ensure consultants and specialist designers fees for DPD is included in the Prelims
Mobilisation Stage (Upon project award)

Ensure the agreed DPD strategy is fully handed over to project team at tender handover meeting.

Support the production and delivery of project BEP, MIDP, MPDT and ensure internal project team and external parties are fully aware of their responsibilities.

Ensure BEP, CDE protocol and Design Responsibility Matrix is included in consultants and specialist designers’ contracts and their fees for DPD is included in the Prelims.

Ensure SCDC assessments is deployed and scored for all consultants and specialist designers.
Project delivery stage

Lead the BIM kick off meeting with consultants and specialist designers

Lead the DPD kick off meeting (with support of Information systems manager) with senior project management team to review and finalise the DPD strategy.

Setup BIMCollab and ensure right protocols are in place for managing and coordinating the Clashes and design issues in the platform and throughout the design team meetings (DTMs)

Support the Project Team in implementing the agreed DPD strategy

Regularly monitor the implementation of the project DPD strategy and identify any gaps
-
Exploring the market and identifying cutting edge and innovative technologies.

Providing upskilling and hands-on training sessions for project teams.

Supporting BIM Lead with DPD audits and implementation of new technologies.

Support the development of the 4D BIM for planning when required.

Capture best practices and lessons learnt to be shared with wider business and other projects.
Experience:
Digital tools and systems

Autodesk Revit: Comprehensive knowledge in developing, editing and publishing 3D BIM models
-
Autodesk Navisworks: Comprehensive knowledge in production of NWD files for navigation, clash detection and data validation of PIM.

Comprehensive knowledge of BIMCollab
-
Comprehensive knowledge of Synchro
-
Information Management: Essential Knowledge of working in a CDE such as Viewpoint For Projects (VFP), Autodesk 360,
Interpersonal skills

Effective supervisory and organisational skills.

Be able to work in multi-faceted working environments on a range of project types.

Ability to build strong relationships with pre-contract and operational teams.

Excellent reporting skills.

Strong communication skills and being able to build positive working relationships.

Self-motivated, ability to manage and prioritise own workload.

Provide workshop based and hands on training.
Qualification and experiences
-
5+ years’ experience of working on multi-disciplinary projects with BIM level 2 standards
-
Degree qualified in construction, computing or related discipline.
-
Full membership of relevant professional body.
Qualifications:
- 2/3+ years’ experience within the Civils, Roads or Rail sector

Relevant qualifications in construction, computing or related discipline
