Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced HGV Plant Fitter to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Diagnose and repair faults on heavy goods vehicles, plant machinery such as Vacuum Tankers excavators, forklifts, and other construction equipment using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections to prevent breakdowns.
- Fabricate and modify components using welding, soldering, and hand tools to meet specific project requirements.
- Use electrical experience to troubleshoot wiring issues, sensors, and control systems on various machines.
- Assemble new equipment parts or machinery components following detailed schematics and technical drawings.
- Repair hydraulic systems, engines, transmissions, and electrical systems to restore equipment functionality efficiently.
- Maintain accurate service records, complete inspection reports, and ensure compliance with safety standards during all maintenance activities.
Experience
- Proven experience as an HGV/ Plant Fitter or heavy machinery mechanic with a strong background in fabrication, welding, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools for heavy plant equipment.
- Hands-on experience with welding (MIG/TIG), soldering, and mechanical assembly of complex machinery components.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, engines (diesel preferred), electrical wiring, and power tools used in equipment repair.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Experience working on excavators, forklifts or similar heavy machinery is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills when liaising with team members or clients regarding repairs or maintenance issues.
