Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum (DOE)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, with flexibility to meet operational requirements, including emergency call-out where required
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrician to join our team., supporting our care homes and hospital services across multiple locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, testing and repair of electrical systems, ensuring our services remain safe, compliant and operational for residents, patients, visitors and staff. This is a hands-on role requiring strong fault-finding skills, a proactive approach to maintenance, and a commitment to high standards of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical installations, repairs and maintenance across multiple healthcare sites.
- Conduct fault finding, testing and inspections of electrical systems.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
- Ensure compliance with electrical regulations, safety standards and company policies.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and compliance documentation.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and urgent maintenance requirements when required.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external contractors.
- Support statutory inspections, audits and compliance activities.
Requirements
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
- Proven experience as an Electrician in commercial, healthcare, residential, or similar environments.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent understanding of electrical safety regulations.
Desirable
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Inspection and Testing qualifications (2391 or equivalent).
- Experience working within healthcare or care home environments.
Important Information
This role requires regular travel between St Matthew's Healthcare services and participation in emergency call-out arrangements where required.
