Annual salary: £28,053
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced candidate to join the Grounds department at Norwich City Football Club in the role of Groundsperson. This role will be responsible for the maintenance and preparation of all surfaces for First Team and Academy matches.
Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain all First Team and Academy pitches to agreed standards, ensuring they are ready for training and matchday use.
- Maintain the Academy indoor training facility, including regular brushing and upkeep.
- Support seasonal pitch renovation and end-of-season maintenance programmes.
- Operate, inspect and maintain grounds machinery safely, reporting faults and assisting with repairs and mower setup.
- Mark out pitches accurately and maintain goals, nets and ball-stop fencing, reporting any defects.
- Carry out landscaping and site maintenance, including mowing, strimming, hedge cutting, weeding and planting.
- Manage grounds equipment and supplies, including receiving deliveries, keeping equipment clean and storing it correctly.
- Uphold the Club’s standards by following health, safety, safeguarding and equality policies, maintaining confidentiality, and representing the Club professionally at all times.
- To act in a manner that supports the Club’s Values of Growth, Integrity, Belonging, Resilience, Pride and Commitment
Qualifications / Experience:
- Knowledge and experience in a similar background, ideally a sporting environment.
- Working towards a NVQ Level 2 Sports Turf (or similar).
- PA 1, 6 desirable.
- ‘LANTRA’ (or similar awarding body) Qualification in operating machinery and handheld tools.
- Knowledge & some experience of working with SGL equipment.
