Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Diagnose faults accurately using specialised tools and diagnostic software
- Repair or replace defective parts to restore equipment functionality
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs undertaken
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Assist in the installation of new machinery and upgrade existing systems as required
- Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar technical role
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or related fields are desirable
- Basic computer literacy for maintaining maintenance records
- A valid driver’s licence is preferred but not essential
