Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and professional Barista & Front of House Team Member to join our vibrant hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional guest service while preparing high-quality coffee and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of our café.
This varied role combines barista responsibilities with front-of-house service, creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable experience. The successful candidate will be confident working behind a busy coffee bar, preparing espresso-based drinks, steaming milk to a high standard, and maintaining cleanliness and equipment, while also providing friendly and attentive table and counter service.

Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, attentive service throughout their visit
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and other beverages to a consistent standard
- Operate the coffee machine confidently, including extracting espresso and adjusting grind settings where required
- Steam and texture milk to produce high-quality drinks and meet customer preferences
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are communicated and accommodated
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked coffee bar throughout service
- Carry out daily cleaning and basic maintenance of coffee machines, grinders, and other bar equipment in accordance with company procedures
- Report any equipment issues or maintenance requirements promptly
- Assist with setting up and clearing tables to maintain a clean and welcoming dining area
- Upsell coffee, food, and menu items in a friendly and knowledgeable manner
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations
- Handle guest enquiries courteously and resolve any issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction
- Support colleagues across the front of house and contribute to the smooth operation of the café
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working as a barista, in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment is highly desirable
- Experience operating a commercial espresso machine and preparing espresso-based drinks
- Confidence in extracting espresso and steaming and texturing milk to a high standard
- Knowledge of coffee preparation, basic coffee machine operation, and bar workflow
- Experience cleaning and carrying out basic daily maintenance of coffee machines and equipment
- Knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and proper serving techniques
- Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, professional demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality and attention to detail
- Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently and tactfully to enhance guest experience and sales
- Ability to perform basic maths accurately for billing and payment purposes
- Experience with food preparation or kitchen operations is an advantage
