Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components, ensuring precision and quality in all work. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in welding and fabrication, particularly those experienced with mig and TIG welding and fabrication work. The position requires a focus on safety, efficiency, and craftsmanship to meet project specifications and deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding on various metals, including sheet metal, to precise specifications
- Fabricate components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised welding equipment
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to guide fabrication processes
- Assemble fabricated parts accurately, ensuring proper fit and finish
- Utilise mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues during fabrication or welding processes
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to adhere to safety standards
- Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure compliance with specifications
- Assist in the development of fabrication techniques and process improvements as required
Requirements
- Proven experience in mig and TIG welding, with a strong understanding of welding standards
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Solid knowledge of fabrication techniques involving sheet metal and assembly processes
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication
- Familiarity with safety procedures related to welding and metalworking environments
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Prior experience working with sheet metal, mechanical components, and assembly is highly desirable
