We're looking for a Cleaning Supervisor to lead our cleaning team at University College London Hospital, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and infection prevention across a busy healthcare environment. As part of our essential healthcare services team, you will play a key role in supporting patient wellbeing, staff safety and the delivery of outstanding cleaning standards.
- Lead, motivate and support a team of cleaners to deliver exceptional cleaning standards across designated hospital areas.
- Carry out regular audits, quality inspections and performance monitoring to ensure compliance with Trust and Mitie standards.
- Manage workforce planning, including attendance management, sickness absence processes, holiday allocation and resource deployment.
- Ensure all cleaning schedules, infection control procedures and healthcare waste regulations are followed at all times.
- Build effective working relationships with Ward Managers, Heads of Department and other key hospital stakeholders to support service excellence.
Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role:
- Previous supervisory experience within a hospital, healthcare or similar regulated environment.
- Good understanding of Cleaning and Cleaning Standards, infection prevention requirements and the national colour-coding system.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written - with teams, management and stakeholders.
- Strong IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook for audits, reporting and operational administration.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop and support teams to achieve excellent results.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience of attendance management, performance conversations and supporting colleague development.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with colleagues, management teams and clinical staff.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, COSHH, waste management and safe systems of work within a cleaning environment.
