Job Overview
Dura Mechanical is a growing Gas engineering and Plumbing contractor with over 20 years of industry experience, delivering projects nationwide.
We are looking for an experienced Plumbing or Mechanical supervisor who is ready to progress into their first formal project management appointment.
You may currently be working as a Plumbing Supervisor, Mechanical Supervisor or Site Supervisor. You will already be mainly off the tools- managing engineers, coordinating subcontractors, ordering materials, attending site meetings and overseeing work across multiple sites.
You do not need to have previously held the title of Project Manager. However you must have a strong Plumbing background, experience within healthcare and education environments, and the capability to take greater responsibility for complete project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating multiple live projects and sites.
- Managing directly employed engineers, subcontractors and other trades.
- Planning labour, materials, equipment and site requirements.
- Monitoring project programmes, deadlines and key milestones.
- Attending client, contractor and site progress meetings.
- Developing into the main day to day contact for clients.
- Ordering materials and monitoring stock availability.
- Organising RAMS for each project.
- Identifying delays or site problems early and taking action to resolve them.
- Producing clear project progress and status reports.
- Taking progress photographs and maintaining accurate project records.
- completing quality inspections and project checklists.
- Supporting the preparation of O & M manuals and as-fitted drawings.
- Managing snagging, commissioning, handover and final completion.
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety, client and company standards.
- Holding regular one- to- one and performance conversations with team members.
What we are looking for
- At least five years practical Plumbing experience.
- Current or recent experience in a supervisory position.
- Experience coordinating teams.
- Progression into a position that is now mainly supervisory and off the tools.
- A strong understanding of commercial plumbing and mechanical installations.
- Experience in preparing or reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
- Familiarity with health & safety legislation
- Experience ordering materials and coordinating subcontractors.
- An understanding of project programmes, costs and variations.
- Strong client communication skills and leadership skills.
- A willingness to follow a development plan and act on constructive feedback.
