Commercial Plumbing Engineer – Central London
Barnet Group Ltd
£200 per day | Paid Weekly | Company Van | Fuel Card | Significant Overtime Available
About Barnet Group
Barnet Group Ltd is a growing Building & Mechanical Services contractor working predominantly within the commercial sector across London.
Originally established as Barnet Plumbers, the business has expanded significantly and now provides a wider range of plumbing, mechanical, maintenance and building services to commercial clients.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Plumbing Engineer to join our team and look after commercial sites, mainly in and around Central London.
The Role
This is a 100% commercial role with no domestic residential work.
Sites include:
· Schools and universities
· Hospitals and healthcare facilities
· Offices
· Shopping centres and retail premises
· Public and commercial buildings
The role will involve a mixture of reactive call-outs, planned maintenance, fault finding, investigation and repair works.
Typical duties include:
· Leak tracing and repairs
· Toilet and sanitaryware repairs
· Tap and shower valve repairs
· Radiator installation and replacement
· Pipework repairs and alterations
· Unblocking toilets, sinks and waste pipework
· Heating system fault finding
· Replacing pumps, zone valves, thermostats and associated components
· Investigating faults and reporting findings for further quotations
Engineers will be expected to work independently, provide photographs and clearly report any additional works required.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
· Strong plumbing experience
· Good fault-finding ability
· Good understanding of heating systems
· Experience with pumps, zone valves, thermostats and controls
· Good communication and customer-facing skills
· Professional and reliable approach
· Full UK driving licence
Gas Safe registration is preferred but not essential.
Working Hours & Overtime
General working hours are:
08:00 – 16:00 on site
Once the day’s scheduled work has been completed, engineers can generally finish for the day.
A major benefit of this role is the large amount of overtime available.
Because many of our clients operate within schools, hospitals, universities, shopping centres and other busy commercial premises, a significant amount of work must be completed outside normal operating hours.
This means there are regular opportunities for:
· Evening work
· Weekend work
· Early morning works
· Planned out-of-hours projects
· Additional paid overtime
For an engineer who wants to maximise earnings, there is substantial scope to work additional hours on top of the standard working week.
Although overtime is not required every day, a reasonable level of flexibility for occasional out-of-hours work is expected.
Package
Daily Rate: £200 per day – Paid Weekly
Also included:
· Weekly pay
· Company van supplied
· Fuel and fuel card supplied
· Company purchasing card for authorised materials
· Significant overtime opportunities
· Regular commercial workload
· Monday–Friday core working week
· Training and additional qualifications where appropriate
· Opportunity to progress as Barnet Group continues to grow
This position would suit an experienced plumbing engineer who enjoys varied commercial maintenance, fault finding and repair work and is looking for a long-term role with strong earning potential through overtime.
