The Integrated Care System (ICS) has a highly ambitious digital strategy to enable and drive clinical and operational transformation that will improve the experiences of care and the outcomes of care, whilst improving the productivity and efficiency of the services offered to the public. Within the ICS Digital Team, we are leading this collaborative effort across Devon and this role is key to the success of our shared Devon Digital Strategy.
The initial focus for this role will be as the Programme Manager for the Devon and Cornwall Care Record. This role will require an in-depth knowledge of shared care records, the technology and standards that make them operate, information governance requirements, procurement, contract management and working with digital support services. The postholder must have excellent communication and leadership skills to operate across multiple stakeholders, conduct supplier engagement and to lead technical technology development meetings.
As part of this role, there will be a requirement to work in a matrix and flexible way across multiple areas/teams to support business needs. The objectives of the role will be regularly reviewed to align to organisational priorities.
Participate in/lead procurement activity in the Digital sphere (hardware, software, and services) ensuring the health system obtains value for money.
Work with clinicians and health care professionals to make best use of new technologies to deliver sustainable business change that improves patient experience and outcomes.
To ensure programmes are fully and formally evaluated and where appropriate that the ICS’ strategic direction is influenced by the results.
Be responsible for the documentation of risks, issues and lessons learned, and where appropriate facilitate lessons learned workshops with stakeholders.
To establish and manage programme boards, ensuring the chair and other members are briefed to ensure the desired challenge, decision or outcome is achieved at board meetings.
To produce written reports and business cases for the programme boards/ICB Boards.
The design, coordination and facilitation of, and participation in, workshops and short-term working groups.
Develop and implement a variety of strategies to deal with resistance to change and motivate stakeholders at all levels including making formal presentations to large groups of staff across the ICS where there may be significant resistance to change and barriers to understanding.
Liaison with NHSE to ensure that ICS programmes align with national strategy and that opportunities for central funding are pursued.
