Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Working Workshop Foreman/Senior Bench Joiner to lead our joinery workshop operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily production, coordinate fabrication and assembly processes, and ensure that all projects meet our high standards of quality. Your expertise in carpentry, joinery, and wood machinist related skills will drive efficiency, safety, and excellence within our team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise workshop staff, assigning tasks and monitoring progress to meet production deadlines.
- Manufacturing fabrication, assembly, and finishing of bespoke joinery products using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, including proper handling of heavy materials and use of personal protective equipment.
- Coordinate with directors to interpret drawings, specifications, and client requirements for accurate execution.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace conducive to efficient workflow and safety compliance.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the manufacturing process to uphold craftsmanship standards.
- Assist with training team members in the use of tools, techniques, and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bench joiner or in a similar woodworking role within a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication, assembly, carpentry, joinery techniques, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a workshop setting.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team and coordinate multiple tasks effectively.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to woodworking and construction environments.
Pay: £16.00 per hour
