Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing food preparation, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Duties
- Lead and supervise the entire kitchen team, including sous chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment
- Oversee all aspects of food production, ensuring dishes meet quality standards and are prepared efficiently
- Develop innovative menus in line with current culinary trends while respecting the restaurant’s concept and customer preferences
- Manage food safety protocols diligently, maintaining compliance with health regulations and hygiene standards
- Coordinate daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and controlling costs
- Train staff on food preparation techniques, presentation standards, and safety procedures
- Monitor cooking processes to ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction
- Organise staff rotas and manage labour costs effectively to optimise productivity
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff members
- Deep understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure
- Experience in menu development and food production management
- Knowledge of hospitality operations and customer service principles
- Effective communication skills to liaise confidently with team members and suppliers
- Ability to maintain organisation within a fast-paced environment while ensuring high standards of quality
