You will be working in the Cementation OU based in Doncaster where Skanska has been a trusted leader in piling and ground engineering. Our breadth of expertise spans every aspect of geotechnical engineering – from micro-piling to diaphragm walls – enabling us to deliver innovative solutions for the most complex challenges.
We are currently looking for a Machinist who will manufacture, repair or modify to a required standard in alignment with Skanska values and procedures.
As the Machinist, you will:
-
Machine/Progress your work daily from the material arriving to final inspection and dispatch, which may involve extra working hours.
Prioritise and detail your work to achieve targeted hours and delivery deadlines to the customers. Promote continuous improvement and innovation.
Promote and ensure that health and safety and environmental awareness are always maintained.
Manufacture, modify or repair to a technical drawing, sample or written instruction.
Liaise with other departments when required to ensure work is progressed on time and to the highest quality highlighting any issues to the relevant personnel.
We are looking for:

City and Guilds/NVQ or equivalent in Turning & Milling
CNC programming capabilities in Lathe & Milling (Fanuc/Hurco)
Good teamworking skills, encouraging co-operation between individuals and groups
Experience of an engineering manufacturing environment
Abrasive wheel/manual handling & slinger signaler qualifications
Coaching and mentoring skills
