Primarily office-based but travel to client sites required.
Industry Experience
Experience within the funeral, cemetery, crematorium or burial ground sector would be a significant advantage.
About the Role
This is a varied and hands-on position combining a significant amount of day-to-day bookkeeping with higher-level financial management and reporting responsibilities.
We're looking for someone who enjoys being involved in every aspect of the finance function. You'll be just as comfortable processing transactions and maintaining accurate financial records as you are producing management accounts, analysing financial performance and providing meaningful financial information to support business decisions.
Working closely with the directors, you will play an important role in ensuring the business continues to operate efficiently and has the financial information needed to support future growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero
- Maintain sales and purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations, payments and credit control
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and assist with payroll where required
- Prepare management accounts, financial reports and supporting schedules
- Monitor cash flow and assist with budgets and forecasts
- Review financial information, identify issues and provide meaningful reports
- Support month-end and year-end processes
Skills & Experience
- Experience and excellent knowledge of Xero (essential)
- Experience with Dext, Hubdoc and similar accounting software
- Experience preparing management accounts and financial reports
- Strong understanding of VAT and general bookkeeping principles
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good communication and client-facing skills
- Able to work independently and take ownership of work
This is a varied, hands-on role. It would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work, building relationships and being involved in more than just day-to-day transaction processing.
Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
