Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Children’s Manager to oversee the daily operations of our specialised care facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a compassionate approach, and extensive experience in child care settings, particularly within assisted living or care home environments. This role involves managing care teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations. The successful applicant will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children requiring specialised care, including those with dementia or other complex needs.
Duties
- Lead and supervise care staff to ensure the delivery of exceptional child-centred services
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans tailored to each child's needs
- Oversee medication administration and ensure adherence to safety protocols
- Coordinate daily activities and therapeutic programmes that promote development and well-being
- Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation, safeguarding policies, and regulatory standards
- Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate care effectively
- Manage staffing rotas, conduct performance reviews, and support staff training and professional development
- Maintain accurate documentation of all care activities and incident reports
- Lead initiatives to enhance service quality and optimise operational efficiency
Experience
- Proven management experience within assisted living, nursing home or home care settings specialising in senior or child care
- Extensive knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and complex health conditions such as medication management
- Demonstrable supervising experience with a focus on leadership in a care environment
- Familiarity with developing and implementing personalised care plans for children with special needs or complex health requirements
- Experience working within regulated environments ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards in the UK healthcare sector
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to lead a multidisciplinary team effectively
