C D Hood Ltd is a small, established building contractor looking for experienced and reliable Carpenters to work on a self-employed CIS basis on projects in and around the Cambridge area.
We are looking for skilled carpenters with a minimum of 7 years' experience who are confident working independently, as well as part of a wider site team, and who take pride in producing a high standard of workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Carry out a range of first and second fix carpentry works
- Complete carpentry tasks accurately and efficiently
- Read and work from drawings and specifications where required
- Work independently and use initiative to resolve day-to-day site issues
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
- Manage time effectively and work to agreed programmes
- Work closely with Site Managers, other trades and subcontractors
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment
- Follow company health and safety procedures at all times
- Communicate professionally with colleagues, clients and other members of the project team
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years' carpentry experience
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and general construction
- Reliable, punctual and well organised
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good problem-solving skills and initiative
- Strong attention to detail
- Own tools appropriate to the role
- Valid driving licence and own transport
- Valid CSCS card preferred
- Eligible to live and work in the UK
General Information
Employment type: Self-employed / CIS
Hours: Full-time, approximately 45 hours per week
Working hours: 7:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
Location: Projects in Cambridge and the surrounding area
Pay: Competitive rates of pay, dependent on experience
