We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Head Chef to join our team.
Job Title: Head Chef
The Masons Arms Hotel
40/50 Covers per day +events
Cuisine: Classic and Modern British.
Hours Per Week: 35 Hours Per Week Including Weekends
We are seeking a Head Chef with flair and enthusiasm to join our existing Catering Team in providing good quality and tasty meals to our guests. You will be ensuring fresh and nutritious meals are served by maintaining the highest standards.
You will have management responsibility for the efficient operation of the kitchen. This includes helping creating menus, food ordering, stock control etc., together with ensuring that all kitchen policies and procedures are up to date and staff are compliant with them. Equally important is the training, motivation and inspiration of the kitchen team to deliver a first-class culinary service.

Skills needed:
Experience of working in a busy kitchen.
Creative at making dishes & working with the manager to produce seasonal menus & meet customer needs
Knowledge of HACCP & COSHH
Able to manage multiple orders.
Professionalism and reliability.
Remain calm under pressure.
Good time management.
A strong understanding of Gross Profit (GP) management
Excellent knowledge of health and safety practices including legislation & ensuring that these practises are ongoing.
Maintaining good food storage procedures and stock rotation according to established procedures.
Preparing, planning and cooking meals to a consistently high standard, taking account of any special requests or dietary requirements
Adhering to the ‘Safer Food Better Business’ standards and record keeping
Adhering to Food Hygiene Regulations and other safety procedures at all times
Correctly filing of all paperwork in relation to the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point system (HACCP) i.e. Fridge temperatures, food temperature logs and cleaning schedules
Level 3 basic food hygiene is an advantage.
To be able to coach and develop a team.
Stock and waste management experience.
Duties include:
Management duties.
Coaching team.
Pushing sales.
The taking of deliveries.
Food preparation.
Producing specials.
Prepare, cook, and present food quickly and efficiently to a high standard.
Monitor portion size and waste.

Rate of Pay
This is a minimum of £15p/h & can be done on a salary basis & can be discussed with the right candidate dependant on experiance.
