Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Takeaway Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with meal preparation, and ensuring smooth operation of the takeaway service. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a busy food environment, supporting both kitchen and front-of-house activities.
Duties
- Prepare and package takeaway meals in accordance with food safety standards
- Assist with food preparation, including basic cooking and meal assembly
- Serve customers at the counter, taking orders accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash transactions and operate the till system
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and service areas
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service during busy periods
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times, ensuring food safety standards are upheld
- Support with general cleaning duties to maintain hygiene standards within the premises
Requirements
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety procedures and hygiene standards
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively during busy periods
- Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour when interacting with customers
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Experience in meal preparation, food preparation, or kitchen work is advantageous
- A positive attitude towards learning new skills within a fast-paced environment
