Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder to join our manufacturing team in. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations, primarily specialising in TIG welding, to fabricate and assemble metal components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in various welding techniques to contribute to our ongoing projects and production goals. The ideal applicant will demonstrate proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication processes, ensuring safety and precision at all times.
Responsibilities
- Conduct TIG welding on a variety of materials, including sheet metal and other metal components, adhering to technical specifications and safety standards.
- Utilise a range of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal parts.
- Perform basic measurements and calculations using fundamental maths to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
- Read technical drawings and blueprints to determine welding requirements and assembly procedures.
- Assist in the fabrication of components through sheet metal work, ensuring precise fitting and alignment.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment by inspecting welds for quality and inspecting tools for safety.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to project deadlines.
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to welding operations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
- Proven experience in TIG welding, with a strong understanding of welding standards.
- Demonstrable proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques.
- Knowledge of sheet metal work, assembly processes, and mechanical principles.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or schematics accurately.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control during welding and assembly processes.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications or training in welding techniques are highly desirable but not essential.
