About the Role
We are looking for two friendly, reliable seasonal bar staff to run Wainwrights Bar, the bottom bar at The Bay Hotel in Robin Hood’s Bay. The roles will run from now to the end of September.
Wainwrights Bar is a welcoming stop for walkers completing or hiking the famous Coast to Coast route, so we’re particularly interested in people who love the outdoors and enjoy meeting people who have just completed an incredible challenge.
Between the two positions, the bar will operate 7 days a week, typically 11am – 7pm, with around 66 hours available in total. Hours can be arranged in a few ways depending on applicants, for example:
- Two roles of ~30–35 hours each, or
- One full-time role (~40+ hours) and one part-time role (~20+ hours)
There may be opportunities for continued work beyond September depending on staffing requirements in the hotel’s top bar, but this is not guaranteed.
About Wainwrights Bar
Wainwrights Bar celebrates the spirit of the Coast to Coast Walk, welcoming hikers finishing or passing through Robin Hood’s Bay. We aim to create a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where walkers can celebrate their achievement with a drink, food, and good conversation.
We will also be developing a few local trail routes starting from the bar, so staff with a genuine interest in hiking, running, trails, or the outdoors will fit in perfectly.
Key Responsibilities
- Serving drinks and taking food orders
- Providing a friendly welcome to walkers and visitors
- Opening and preparing the bar for service
- Cleaning the bar, toilets, and outside areas before service
- Stocking up and keeping the bar organised
- Maintaining a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere
- Being flexible with shifts depending on demand
What We’re Looking For
- Friendly and approachable personality
- Reliable and able to work independently
- Flexible with working hours and shifts
- Comfortable engaging with customers and walkers
- Interest in hiking, running, trails, or the outdoors is a big plus
- Previous bar or hospitality experience preferred but not essential
