Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand/Cook to join our culinary team. This role involves assisting with food preparation, cooking, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. The successful candidate will have a passion for culinary arts and experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and organising ingredients
- Support the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from senior kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
- Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to at all times
- Help with meal assembly and presentation to ensure timely service
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Support serving staff during busy periods by preparing additional food items or assisting with plating
- Follow health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment
- Lead kitchen and train team members.
- Cover Head chef's holidays
- Help plan new Menus
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is essential
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required Wednesday to Sunday, including weekends.
- Basic understanding of hygiene practices related to meal preparation and serving
