Mechanical Engineer - Facility Management

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Facilities Management team. This role involves hands-on mechanical maintenance, fabrication work, and ensuring optimal building performance across multiple FM sites. You will be part of a 10-person team with 7 engineers, working on both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day mechanical maintenance and repairs across multiple facility management sites

Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to industry standards

Respond to reactive maintenance calls efficiently and effectively

Undertake mechanical and fabric-related tasks including minor fabrication work

Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Work flexibly across shift patterns to meet operational requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualifications & Certifications:
- City & Guilds Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent recognized qualification

Relevant mechanical trade certification
Experience:
- Proven experience in facilities management environments

Hands-on experience with mechanical systems maintenance

Background in fabrication work

Track record of PPM and reactive maintenance delivery
Working Arrangements:
- Ability to work flexible shift patterns: Early shift (7:00 AM - 4:00 PM) and Day shift (10:00 AM - 7:00 PM)

Willingness to work overtime as required (weekdays at 1.5x rate, weekends at 2x rate)

40-hour working week with appropriate breaks
Desirable Requirements
- Asbestos Awareness (Level 1) certification

PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers' and Manufacturers' Association) certification

IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) certification
