Overview
Role Overview
P&T Service Ltd is looking for an experienced Commercial Window Cleaning Bid & Tender Specialist with a proven track record of successfully winning commercial contracts.
This is not a general Bid Writer position.
We are specifically looking for someone who has previous experience identifying, preparing and winning tenders within commercial window cleaning, specialist cleaning, external cleaning or closely related Facilities Management (FM) services.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the tender process — from identifying and qualifying suitable opportunities through to preparing, submitting and following up high-quality bids.
Our objective is clear: to secure profitable, long-term commercial window-cleaning contracts across London.
Key Responsibilities
Tender Identification & Qualification
- Proactively identify suitable commercial window-cleaning tender opportunities.
- Monitor relevant tender portals, procurement platforms, frameworks and private-sector opportunities.
- Identify opportunities with property management companies, managing agents, offices, schools, hotels, residential developments, housing associations, healthcare facilities and other commercial organisations.
- Assess opportunities before bidding to ensure they are commercially viable and suitable for P&T Service Ltd.
Bid & Proposal Management
- Manage the complete bid process from initial opportunity through to final submission.
- Prepare, write and edit professional PQQs, SQs, ITTs, RFPs and tender responses.
- Tailor every submission to the individual client’s requirements rather than relying on generic responses.
- Produce compelling submissions demonstrating our operational capability, health & safety standards, service quality and value proposition.
- Ensure all tenders are accurate, compliant and submitted within deadlines.
Commercial & Strategic Support
- Work with management to develop competitive pricing and commercial proposals.
- Understand specifications, frequencies, staffing requirements, access methods and service levels when assessing opportunities.
- Help position P&T Service Ltd effectively against larger competitors.
- Track tender results and analyse successful and unsuccessful submissions to continuously improve our win rate.
Tender Pipeline
- Maintain an active pipeline of current and upcoming commercial opportunities.
- Follow up submitted proposals where appropriate.
- Maintain a professional library of company credentials, case studies, policies, method statements and standard tender information.
- Build relationships with procurement contacts and relevant commercial decision-makers where appropriate.
The Person We Are Looking For
The most important requirement is a proven record of winning commercial contracts.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked within:
- Commercial window cleaning
- Specialist/external cleaning
- Facilities Management
- Commercial contract cleaning
- Property or building services
You should be able to demonstrate real examples of tenders or contracts you have helped win, preferably including the approximate contract value and your involvement in securing them.
We are looking for someone who is commercially minded, proactive and results-driven — not someone whose experience is limited to writing tender documents supplied to them by others.
You should be comfortable finding opportunities, deciding which ones are worth pursuing, developing the bid and driving the process through to submission and follow-up.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrable experience preparing successful UK commercial tenders.
- Proven track record of winning commercial contracts.
- Strong preference for previous window-cleaning, cleaning or FM sector experience.
- Experience with UK tender and procurement portals.
- Strong understanding of PQQ, SQ, ITT and RFP processes.
- Excellent written English and persuasive proposal-writing ability.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of contract pricing.
- Strong organisational and deadline-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of opportunities.
- Comfortable using modern technology and AI tools to improve research, tender preparation and efficiency.
IMPORTANT – Please Include With Your Application
To help us identify candidates with the right experience, please include the following when applying:
1. What commercial cleaning, window-cleaning or FM contracts have you previously helped win?
2. What was the approximate annual or total contract value?
3. What was your personal involvement in securing the contract?
4. Which tender/procurement portals do you have experience using?
5. Can you provide examples or evidence of successful tender outcomes?
Applications without relevant commercial tender experience may not be considered.
What Success Looks Like
Performance will be measured primarily on:
- Quality and relevance of tender opportunities identified.
- Number and value of qualified bids submitted.
- Tender success/win rate.
- Value of new commercial contracts secured.
- Profitability and quality of contracts won.
- Development of a strong ongoing commercial tender pipeline.
This is an opportunity for an experienced bid professional to play a direct role in the growth of an established London cleaning business and be rewarded for delivering measurable results.
