Supported Housing Manager – SASH
Location: Shrewsbury
Reports to: CEO
Lead. Improve. Make a Difference.
Are you an experienced supported housing professional looking for a role where your leadership can genuinely change lives?
SASH is looking for an ambitious, compassionate and commercially-minded Supported Housing Manager to lead and develop our growing supported accommodation service.
SASH provides supported housing for people living with mental health needs, helping residents build the confidence, skills and independence they need to live successfully in their own homes.
This is a hands-on role with real scope to shape the future of the service. You'll balance people, property, performance and purpose — ensuring our homes are safe and well managed, our residents receive an excellent service, and our organisation remains financially sustainable and compliant.
What you'll do
You'll take strategic and operational responsibility for our supported housing provision, including:
- Manage and develop a high-quality, resident-focused housing management service.
- Manage and support our Housing Officers and Finance Officer.
- Oversee tenancies, lettings, rent, occupancy, arrears, voids, complaints and tenancy sustainment.
- Ensure our properties are safe, well maintained and fully compliant with relevant requirements.
- Lead on risk management, safeguarding, health & safety and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor budgets, expenditure, rental income and financial performance.
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, support providers, commissioners, statutory agencies and community partners.
- Drive service improvement, innovation and value for money.
- Develop performance measures and provide clear reporting to the CEO and Board of Trustees.
- Contribute to the future growth and development of SASH's supported housing portfolio.
About you
We're looking for someone who combines strong housing expertise with a genuine commitment to supporting people.
You'll bring:
- Significant management experience in housing, supported housing, and mental health.
- Strong knowledge of housing management, tenancy management, property compliance, safeguarding and health & safety.
- Experience managing staff, budgets, risk, compliance and performance.
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work confidently with multiple agencies and professional stakeholders.
- A resident-focused, compassionate approach and a commitment to dignity, independence, equality and inclusion.
- The confidence to work independently, take initiative and make sound decisions — while knowing when to escalate.
A relevant professional qualification or equivalent substantial experience is essential.
What makes this role different?
This isn't simply a property or tenancy management role.
You'll have the opportunity to shape a developing service, influence its future direction and make a tangible difference to the lives of people living with mental health needs.
Working closely with the CEO and Board, you'll have genuine influence over service development, operational performance, financial sustainability and future growth.
Experience of supported housing, accommodation-based services, mental health services, shared accommodation or working within a small charity/not-for-profit organisation would be particularly valuable.
