Having grown significantly over recent years we now seek a Finance Manager to join our Kingwood family to share in our journey in making a difference to so many young lives.
We see this as a key role, taking responsibility for many important aspects of our growing business as part of a passionate Senior Management Team.
Person Specification:
- Ideally will be AAT qualified although we will consider candidates who will work towards an AAT qualification.
- Knowledge of the childcare industry is desirable but not essential. The role gives the opportunity to become a sector specialist
- A good understanding of IT is essential with an ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Experience of using Xero Accounting desirable but not essential.
- Past book keeping / Admin experience is desirable.
- Highly organised & systematic, real attention to detail with an ability to spot anomalies.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative and supportive atmosphere to ensure Kingwood delivers the highest possible level of childcare
- As a key member of the senior management team an understanding of the importance of complete confidentiality is essential.
Job Purpose:
Hands on running of the business finances.
Providing financial expertise, with attention to detail, to compliment the roles of the other members of the Senior Management Team as we continue the Kingwood journey.
Reporting to the Directors with financial and management information both current and forward looking.
Keeping up to date with the sector and ensuring Kingwood Children is fully compliant with all industry regulations.
Specific Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Management information & Book keeping
- Setting and monitoring budgets for various elements of the business.
- Running a financial KPI dashboard
- Presenting financial information to the Directors & making recommendations
· Dealing with government funding and keeping abreast of changes.
- Invoicing and dealing with parents over invoicing queries.
- Managing the debtor book.
- Managing a purchasing system, dealing with Creditors and settling invoices.
- Costing and monitoring spend on projects.
- Helping to forecast cash flow, monitoring and reporting against milestones.
- Supporting our Payroll Officer to complete monthly wage preparation.
- Working with Devon County Council.
- Dealing with business rates, utility providers, insurance renewals etc.

Pay: £32,000.00-£42,000.00 per year depending on experience

- Potential ability to work from home after probationary period for up to 2 days per week
