The Weavers Arms is a welcoming pub in the heart of Norwich, known for its quality cask and keg ales, delicious food, and hearty Sunday roast dinners. We pride ourselves on being a much-loved local hub with a friendly atmosphere and great service. We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Chef to join our kitchen team and help us continue delivering great food to our guests.
Role Overview
As a Chef, you will support the day-to-day running of the kitchen, preparing dishes to a high standard, maintaining excellent hygiene, and working as part of a close-knit team. This role is ideal for someone with kitchen experience who enjoys working in a busy environment and wants to grow their skills.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking:
Prepare and cook dishes to spec, ensuring consistent quality, presentation, and timing — including our popular Sunday roasts.
Kitchen Support:
Assist with daily prep, stock rotation, storing deliveries correctly, and keeping the kitchen clean, safe, and organised.
Teamwork:
Work closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to deliver smooth, efficient services.
Standards & Compliance:
Follow all food hygiene, safety, and allergen procedures to maintain a safe and compliant kitchen environment.
Service Efficiency:
Help maintain strong communication during service to ensure orders are delivered quickly and accurately.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a kitchen role (pub, restaurant, café, or similar) preferred but not essential
- Strong work ethic and ability to stay calm during busy periods
- Good understanding of basic food hygiene and safe kitchen practices
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs
- Flexible availability — weekdays, evenings, weekends, and seasonal dates
- A positive, reliable team player
