Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing high-quality dishes in accordance with menu specifications.
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Coordinate food preparation activities to meet service times and customer expectations.
- Ensure all food safety standards are strictly followed, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste.
- Support training programmes for junior kitchen staff to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment at all times.
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation across various cuisines.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with experience managing kitchen teams effectively.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a professional kitchen setting.
- Previous restaurant experience is essential; familiarity with serving procedures is advantageous.
- Competence in managing multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
