We’re looking for a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our team at Salt & Pepper.
This is an important role within our restaurant and we’re looking for someone who is happy to get stuck in and help keep the whole operation running smoothly.
The role will include:
- Washing pots, equipment and kitchen utensils quickly and thoroughly
- Keeping kitchen, storage and back-of-house areas clean and organised
- Receiving, moving and putting away stock
- Regularly carrying stock up and down stairs, so you must be comfortable with physical work
- Completing cleaning tasks to a high standard with strong attention to detail
- Helping with general restaurant cleaning and maintenance
- Supporting the kitchen and wider team wherever needed
- Spotting jobs that need doing rather than always waiting to be asked

- Previous kitchen or cleaning experience is useful, but attitude and reliability are just as important
We’re a busy city-centre restaurant, so you’ll need to be comfortable working at pace while maintaining high standards.
Location: Salt & Pepper, Manchester City Centre
Hours: 25-30
Pay: Hourly rate in line with National Minimum/Living Wage requirements with a clear progression and pay rise structure.
