The Role
We are looking for a caring, motivated, and experienced Room Leader to join our friendly team on a maternity cover contract.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate childcare professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. In this rewarding role, you will lead and support a team of practitioners while helping to create a warm, engaging, and inspiring environment where children can flourish every day.
Working closely with management and colleagues, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of care, learning, safeguarding, and wellbeing for every child.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and inspire a team of Early Years Practitioners
- Deliver high-quality childcare tailored to each child’s individual needs
- Plan and support engaging educational and play-based experiences in line with Realising the Ambition
- Ensure the safety, health, and wellbeing of all children in your care
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Support staff development through mentoring, guidance, and teamwork
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding and regulatory standards
- Organise parent events, trips, graduations, and nursery activities
- Work collaboratively with management to support smooth day-to-day operations
What We’re Looking For
- SVQ Level 4 in Social Services (Children and Young People) or working towards this qualification is essential
- Experience working within an early years or childcare setting
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a friendly and approachable manner
- A compassionate, patient, and nurturing attitude
- Knowledge of safeguarding and current childcare practices
- A positive team player who values collaboration and shared success
- Someone who is organised, proactive, and passionate about early years education
