**As the Council is a Foundation Living wage employer, you will be paid at Foundation Living Wage as a minimum, currently £25,949 per annum (Hourly Rate: £13.45)**
Lancaster City Council & Preston City Council operate as a shared service for the provision of revenues and benefit functions, and as part of this provision we administer and collect Business Rates on behalf of the two Councils.
We are looking to recruit to an Apprentice Revenues Officer post within the Business Rates team. The post will be based at the Town Hall, Preston. This is a high performing team, whose responsibility for the billing and collection of Business Rates promptly and efficiently is crucial to the Council.
Duties include:

Dealing with Business Rates customers, by phone, correspondence and sometimes in person to establish their needs and take appropriate steps to meet those needs.

Deal with information from various other sources affecting liability, recovery, data input, administration, daily report work in line with process and maintain/update online computerised systems.

Work as part of a team administering, billing, collection, recovery and the application of discounts and reliefs for non-domestic properties.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated applicant who can demonstrate an ability to deal with customers and work as a member of a team and on their own.
The apprenticeship is via the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV), with competence based course units which align to the Level 4 Revenues and Welfare Benefits Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard (Revenues Pathway).
