Job Introduction
As a Health Visitor, you will join our Child and Family Wellbeing Service in Warwickshire, playing a vital role in improving outcomes for babies, children and families across your local community.This is a rewarding opportunity to lead and deliver the Healthy Child Programme for children aged 0 to 5 years, supporting families from pregnancy through the early years of a child's life. You will work with a defined caseload, building trusted relationships with families and providing tailored support, early intervention and public health advice to help children have the best possible start in life.You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team, working alongside colleagues and partner agencies to promote health, reduce inequalities, safeguard children and empower families to make positive choices that improve long-term wellbeing.

In this role, you will take professional responsibility for a defined caseload of children and families, delivering the Healthy Child Programme through a combination of home visits, clinics, group sessions and community-based interventions.You will assess the needs of families and provide support through universal, targeted and specialist pathways, ensuring children receive the right support at the right time. You will also play a key role in safeguarding children, supporting vulnerable families and working proactively with partner agencies to improve outcomes.Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you will provide leadership and support to the wider skill mix team, helping to ensure high standards of care, effective team working and the delivery of key performance targets. You will contribute to service development, quality improvement and public health initiatives while acting as an advocate for children and families within your community.Key responsibilities include:

Delivering the Healthy Child Programme 0-5 years

Managing a defined caseload of children and families

Providing health promotion, early intervention and public health advice

Assessing needs and delivering support across universal, targeted and specialist pathways

Safeguarding children and supporting families with complex needs

Acting as Lead Professional where appropriate

Leading and supporting members of the wider Health Visiting team

Working collaboratively with health, education, social care and voluntary sector colleagues
-
Delivering evidence-based practice and contributing to service development
-
Supporting student learning, mentorship and workforce development
-
Participating in nurse prescribing in line with NMC guidance and local policies
-
Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) qualification in Health Visiting

Current NMC registration
-
Experience delivering the Healthy Child Programme

Experience managing a caseload within a community setting
-
Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection processes
-
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
-
Experience working collaboratively with partner agencies and multidisciplinary teams
-
Ability to lead, support and motivate colleagues
-
Understanding of public health principles and health promotion
-
Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously

Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and electronic patient record systems

Current UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes

Nurse Prescriber qualification

Practice Assessor or mentorship qualification

Experience leading quality improvement or public health initiatives

Experience delivering parenting programmes, workshops or group interventions

Knowledge of local and national policy affecting children's services
