Role Definition:
Accountable for the effective, efficient and economic management of the specified department, always ensuring management coverage for staff
complying at all times with company operating requirements. Paying special regard to
Quality, cost control, yield and utilisation
health, safety & ethics
traceability,
product safety, authenticity and integrity,
labelling and
company, personal & food hygiene rules and legislation
Accountabilities
1.Ensure agreed throughput and yield/ giveaway targets are met
Set through put targets achieved.
Completion of yield/ giveaway documents
Maintain yields and giveaway within set targets
Explain and have information for why the targets have not been maintained
Maintain visual monitors in department. And ensure they are up to date hourly.
2. Continuous improvements in efficiency achieved and communicated
Completion of the following documents
Lost time reports throughout the day and reasons why time has been lost.
Waste control/ reports
Daily operating record reports
Attendance register at beginning of day
Request for agency staff when required
Breakdown reports
Daily plan at shift start
Daily overtime report and handover
Any other task that may be a reasonable request of your role
Daily review with manager on department
Performance on KPI's. Including pack rates and if targets have not been achieved why not.
Review line leaders weekly on their performance
Cost saving projects
3. Ensure all relevant information is passed on to relevant departments.
Innova system updated and maintained at all times and any variances from plan reported.
4. To ensure the most effective/efficient utilisation of department resources, labour and machinery.
. To monitor manning levels overtime and holiday against site requirements and take Any necessary corrective action.
To ensure you provide your staff with the correct equipment and consumables to Achieve The production requirements.
Break times are monitored, any violation of set times must be controlled through your Supervisors.
To attend regular team meetings with Dept. staff reviewed against action log.
5. Team building
Manage SIC meetings
. To attend regular team meetings with Department staff and to liaise with Immediate manager. Report back to shop floor any issues raised.
6. To operate to Company Best Practice
In line with Company policies & procedures
To ensure all areas are kept clean and tidy
7. To ensure our products meet our customer Requirements.
To monitor product quality against customer specification through liaison with the Technical department.
8. To liaise/communicate with colleagues and Departments.
To enhance team building by monitoring colleague perception of how you communicate between departments and the Quality of your performance.
9. To carry out any other duties that may be Reasonably requested by your line manager.
Successful completion of tasks set.
Support across all factory areas should this be required
10. To complete samples requests when required
To complete sample required to the highest quality and ensure they are all correct.
Budget responsibilities:
Site budget: Be aware of budget constraints and support initiatives to reduce costs.
Ensure best value and cost-effective use of people/overtime.
Be aware of ppk cost and yield/giveaway costs.
Knowledge and Experience
To be aware of H.A.C.C.P. System
To adhere to current legislation with regards to safe food production
To monitor staff personal hygiene practices
To ensure that the products meet individual customer requirements
To comply with Company Policy to ensure the adherence on all matters concerning Health and Safety.
To ensure all staff is trained in line with the Company Best Practice Policy.
That Individual Development needs are regularly monitored and meet Company Best Practice Policy.
To ensure awareness and compliance of H.A.C.C.P. procedures as set out in the Quality Manual
Analysis of customer complaints/rejection levels with reference to departmental issues and take appropriate actions.
Review Good Manufacturing Practice (G.M.P.)
Audit and take appropriate action.
To ensure the product is processed in line with agreed procedures and specifications.
To monitor against Customer feedback via team briefing.
To work in a manner as to prevent/minimise The risk of accidents.
To report or prevent any personnel believed To be endangering themselves or others.
Ensure Training matrix are up to date and reviewed
All new staff have undergone the Appropriate induction programme
All staff will be trained to the applicable departmental procedures
All back to work/late to work interviews are carried out at the agreed time and
Any action Required and noted.
Regular Team Briefings to be carried out in Accordance to the set programme
