Job Overview
We are looking for a hardworking, reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeping Team Member to join our team at Northallerton Motel.
For us, personality and attitude are just as important as experience. We are looking for someone who naturally takes pride in their work, notices the little details that others might miss, and genuinely cares about creating clean, welcoming rooms for our guests.
The ideal person enjoys keeping things organised, has high personal standards, and gets satisfaction from leaving every room looking its absolute best. We want someone who doesn't just "do the job", but someone who wants to do it properly every time.
Previous hotel housekeeping experience is beneficial but is not essential. If you have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and are willing to learn, we will provide full training.
Responsibilities
- Clean and service guest bedrooms and bathrooms to the highest standards.
- Make beds to company standards and ensure rooms are presented beautifully for arriving guests.
- Dust, vacuum, mop and sanitise all assigned areas.
- Replenish guest amenities, towels and linen.
- Ensure every room is thoroughly checked before completion, paying close attention to presentation and detail.
- Report maintenance issues, damages or missing items promptly.
- Assist with laundry duties when required.
- Restock housekeeping trolleys and cleaning supplies.
- Follow all health and safety procedures.
- Work efficiently whilst maintaining exceptional quality.
- Respond politely and professionally to guest requests when required.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the housekeeping department.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Takes genuine pride in producing high-quality work.
- Has excellent attention to detail and notices when something isn't quite right.
- Cares about cleanliness and presentation.
- Is hardworking, reliable and punctual.
- Has a positive, can-do attitude.
- Works well independently and as part of a team.
- Is trustworthy and takes responsibility for their work.
- Is physically capable of lifting, bending and being on their feet throughout the shift.
- Wants to contribute to creating a great experience for every guest.
Experience
Previous housekeeping, hotel, cleaning or janitorial experience is desirable but not essential. We believe the right attitude is more important than previous experience, and full training will be provided.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the hospitality sector while contributing to a positive guest experience. We value reliability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic in all our team members.
Weekend working is an essential part of the position, and successful applicants should be available to work regular weekends as part of a rota. Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and bank holidays, including occasional additional shifts to support business demands, is highly desirable.
