About the Role
We are seeking an organised, proactive and commercially minded Operations Co-ordinator to join our team in Derby.
This is a key role within the business, responsible for the day-to-day coordination of our field operations and acting as a central point of contact between customers, site technicians and management. Working in a fast-paced office environment, you will manage changing priorities, support operational delivery and help ensure our customers receive an excellent service.
The role would suit someone from a materials testing, construction, highways, civil engineering or similar field-service environment who is comfortable managing multiple tasks, building customer relationships and taking ownership of operational activities.
Key Responsibilities

Manage customer bookings, enquiries, cancellations and changes to scheduled works
- Maintain the operational diary and coordinate daily work schedules
- Communicate allocated works and job information to site technicians
- Provide day-to-day support to customers and field-based teams
- Arrange hotels and travel requirements for technicians working away from home
- Coordinate fleet servicing, MOTs, repairs and vehicle maintenance
- Manage equipment servicing, calibration, repairs and replacements
- Order and manage PPE, workwear and site consumables
- Support onboarding activities for new employees, including company equipment and induction requirements
- Manage holiday requests and support workforce planning activities
- Assist with quotations, customer enquiries and new customer setup
- Work closely with administration and operational teams to ensure documentation is completed accurately and on time
- Identify opportunities to support business growth through positive customer interactions and enquiry management
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- Experience within an operations, scheduling, coordination or customer service role
- Excellent telephone manner and customer-facing skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple changing priorities
- Good commercial awareness and confidence speaking with customers
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office

Salary and Benefits
We offer a salary of £28,000 - £32,000 depending on experience and provide a supportive working environment including:
