Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Community Pharmacy Counter Assistant to join our pharmacy team. The successful candidate will provide excellent service to customers, assist with the sale of medicines and healthcare products, and support the smooth day-to-day operation of the pharmacy.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and respond to their enquiries in a professional and helpful manner.
- Assist customers with the purchase of over-the-counter medicines and healthcare products.
- Refer customers to the pharmacist when appropriate, particularly when advice or clinical support is required.
- Follow pharmacy procedures and legal requirements for the sale of medicines.
- Process payments accurately and operate the till.
- Receive, check, price, and display stock.
- Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and product presentation.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming pharmacy environment.
- Handle customer information confidentially and sensitively.
- Support pharmacy colleagues with general administrative and operational tasks.
- Complete required training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmacy products and procedures.
Qualifications
- Pharmacy Counter Assistant qualification preferred, or willingness to complete an approved training programme.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, retail, or customer-service environment is desirable.
- A good standard of written and spoken English.
- Basic numeracy and computer skills.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
