About the Role
We're looking for a practical and reliable person to join our friendly warehouse team. This is primarily a warehouse-based role, involving picking, packing and preparing customer orders, assembling furniture and helping the warehouse manger keep our warehouse running efficiently.
Alongside the day-to-day warehouse duties, you'll also use your practical skills to carry out furniture assembly, basic woodworking, repairs and furniture painting to help prepare products to the high standards our customers expect.
This is a varied, hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in producing quality results and is happy to turn their hand to a range of practical tasks.
This is a part-time position, working two to three days per week (specifically that person must be available on Monday & Tuesdays) with occasional overtime available during busier periods. As our business continues to grow, there is potential for the role to develop further over time.
Our warehouse is located just outside Exeter, so your own transport will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Help to pick, pack and prepare customer orders on a daily basis.
- Assemble furniture and prepare products for customer orders.
- Carry out furniture repairs, joinery and general woodworking to a high standard.
- Prepare, paint and finish wooden furniture and home accessories.
- Assist with the organisation, maintenance and general upkeep of the warehouse.
- Receive deliveries, organise stock and assist with stock counts.
- Safely move furniture and assist with loading and unloading deliveries.
- Support the wider team with general warehouse and maintenance tasks as required.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a good level of practical woodworking, carpentry or joinery experience.
- Warehouse experience is preferred but not crucial.
- Painting experience on some level would be very useful.
- Takes pride in producing high-quality work with excellent attention to detail.
- Enjoys problem-solving and finding practical solutions.
- Is organised, reliable and able to work independently.
- Has a positive attitude and is always willing to lend a hand.
- Is physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual handling when required.
- Enjoys working as part of a small, friendly team.Salary will be dependent on experience.
