Dot The Lions is an independent food business based at Leeds Arts University, serving restaurant-quality breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and speciality barista coffee to students, staff, and visitors.
We're looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen operation and help shape the future of our food offering.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate food professional who wants more creativity, flexibility, and work-life balance than is often found in hospitality.
You'll take ownership of the kitchen, helping to curate seasonal menus, manage day-to-day operations, and maintain the high standards that Dot The Lions is known for.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing the daily operation of the kitchen
- Developing and curating menus that reflect seasonal produce and sustainable practices
- Preparing and overseeing the production of fresh, restaurant-quality food
- Managing food ordering, stock control, and supplier relationships
- Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are maintained
- Leading and supporting kitchen staff
- Contributing ideas to help grow and develop the business
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a kitchen management or senior chef role within a commercial food environment
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- A passion for quality ingredients, seasonal cooking, and sustainable food practices
- Experience managing food costs, stock, and kitchen systems
- Food safety knowledge and a commitment to high standards
- A positive, proactive approach and the ability to work independently
