We are a fast-growing food ingredients business based in London Colney, St Albans. We are looking for a highly organised individual to join our small team.
This is a hands-on role but also an opportunity to progress into a key operational role within a young business.
You will start by working in production and dispatch while learning the operational flow from the ground up. Over time, the role will expand into planning, stock control and helping coordinate daily operations.
Key Responsibilities (initial stage)
- Handling and mixing ingredients and materials carefully, in a food production environment (including occasional lifting of up to 20-25kg with proper trolleys and equipment support).
- Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards.
- Managing incoming/outgoing orders for dispatch with Palletline, UPS and Royal Mail (from small packaging in individual parcels, to sacks and pallets).
- Stock checking and basic organisation.
As You Grow in the Role (next stage)
With training and experience, responsibilities will expand to include:
- Taking ownership of the daily operational flow.
- Monitoring stock levels and identifying supply needs.
- Coordinating and training production staff.
- Helping reduce day-to-day dependency on the founders.
What We Are Looking For
We care far more about attitude and thinking ability than formal qualifications. The ideal candidate is someone reliable, consistent, and exceptionally precise in their work, with the ability to maintain efficiency and a fast pace in a busy production environment. You should be comfortable working with numbers and confident using our software and systems. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who wants to grow with us and is seeking a stable, long-term career rather than just a short-term job.
What We Offer
- Starting as a part-time role working 24h a week across 4 weekdays (6h per day), with a structured pathway toward a full-time position of 40h a week (8h per day).
- Permanent contract following an onboarding period.
- Working days and start/finish times can be agreed to suit your routine, including school-run arrangements.
- Starting hourly rate from £13.50, with potential progression to £15.00+ based on performance and responsibility.
- Free on-site parking. Preference will be given to candidates with their own vehicle, as the public bus routes (602 and 84 bus lines on London Colney High St) are only practical for those living locally.
