Job Overview
We are seeking a self motivated and organised individual, who has the ability and desire to remain on task when working unsupervised. A good phone manner is essential, and a drive to see tasks through to their full conclusion will be a valuable asset. An ability, or an ability to learn, to understand the technical language, needs and requirements of our engineering staff, supporting the smooth operation of the workshop environment.
Our end product is a niche product within the livestock sector, you are not expected to have an extensive knowledge of this area of expertise. Background knowledge of the sector, whilst helpful, is not essential, as your administration skills are the most important aspect of your work. You will be supported and encouraged to learn about the product and it's place within the livestock sector as part of your initial and ongoing training.
Duties
- Manage daily administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and correspondence.
- Support supply chain operations by liaising with suppliers and vendors.
- Oversee warehouse activities, including stock control and organisation, and equipment maintenance.
- Negotiate with suppliers and clients to optimise procurement processes and service delivery.
- Accept incoming customer calls, interpret and record customer requirements, suggest and deliver solutions to customer issues.
- Learn and maintain a mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot basic equipment issues or supply spares for repairs for our customers .
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of goods.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries professionally and efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience in office administration within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with mainstream record keeping software, and data entry procedures.
- Knowledge of supply chain processes, shipping & receiving protocols, and warehouse operations.
- A basic background knowledge of the Livestock feed processing sector
- An ability and willingness to learn the characteristics and best use of our products, to be able to offer sound and respected advice about the use and maintenance of the agricultural machinery we build.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Negotiation skills to be coupled with customer service expertise.
- Basic understanding of good practice in equipment use and repair, and general mechanical principles.
- Experience working with logistics planning and inventory management systems.
- Proficiency in using office software tools for documentation and communication purposes.
