We’re looking for a Community Space Coordinator & Host to join our small, friendly team at Bayspace, an inspiring coworking space in the heart of St Ives.
Set within a beautifully renovated Grade II listed building overlooking St Ives Bay, Bayspace brings together start-ups, established businesses, entrepreneurs and the local community.
This is much more than a reception role. You’ll be at the heart of the Bayspace experience — welcoming members and visitors, supporting events, helping businesses settle in and making sure the workspace operates brilliantly every day.
What you’ll be doingWelcoming & Customer Experience
You’ll be the friendly face of Bayspace and the first point of contact for many of our members and visitors.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming members, visitors and meeting room guests.
- Responding to telephone, email and in-person enquiries.
- Being the first point of contact for new membership enquiries.
- Organising and conducting workspace tours.
- Helping new members settle into Bayspace.
- Managing meeting room bookings and supporting meeting room users.
- Signing visitors in using our workspace management system, Nexudus.
- Receiving post and deliveries for members.
- Managing membership and access queries.
- Keeping noticeboards and member communications up to date.
Workspace Coordination & Operations
Behind the scenes, you’ll help keep Bayspace running smoothly and efficiently.
You’ll be involved in:
- Maintaining our operations and facilities calendar.
- Maintaining fire safety logs and arranging health & safety risk assessments.
- Liaising with suppliers and arranging emergency callouts when required.
- Managing operational issues through Nexudus.
- Communicating operational updates to members.
- Monitoring consumables and placing orders.
- Supporting sustainability reporting and helping us improve our performance.
- Providing technical and operational troubleshooting throughout the space.
Events & Community
Bayspace is a busy, sociable environment and events are an important part of what we do.
You’ll help with:
- Setting up spaces for events, including furniture and signage.
- Stocking fridges and preparing spaces for guests.
- Welcoming and directing event attendees.
- Supporting events in the evening.
- Occasionally taking responsibility for running events independently.
As part of a small team, you’ll also help with opening and closing the space depending on shift patterns.

- A confident communicator, both face-to-face and in writing.
- Comfortable using a range of software and technology.
- Happy working independently and as part of a small team.
- Knowledgeable about St Ives and the surrounding area.
Experience in a customer-facing hospitality environment is essential, together with exemplary customer service skills.
This is an active, hands-on role, so you’ll be comfortable spending a good proportion of your day on your feet, interacting with customers and responding to whatever the day brings.

The package
Salary: £27,500 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, usually Monday to Friday
Holiday: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays
Working pattern: Includes evenings and occasional weekends
Start date: September 2026
Location: St Ives, Cornwall
