Our family-friendly garage in Selby is looking for an experienced VEHICLE TECHNICIAN/MECHANIC to join our team.
We are looking for an individual who is both committed and proficient in teamwork. Having the ability to produce high-quality work and being motivated to work towards set goals is crucial in a busy environment. Complying with customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions, process plans, and other technical publications, you will perform the work to the required standard and specification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect, maintain, service and repair vehicles.
- Diagnose and solve mechanical problems.
- Identify and repair breakdowns and faults.
- Make sure that all equipment maintenance or repairs have been completed.
- Collect and deliver vehicles and parts.
- Ensure that stores and equipment issued to the job are used for their intended purpose by maintaining equipment and making sure tools are in good condition.
- Following the checklist to ensure all procedures are completed.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for both you and your colleagues.
The role is a full-time position, requiring a weekly workday of 35 hours, from Monday to Friday, in the evenings from 5pm to 12am.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR A VEHICLE TECHNICIAN/MECHANIC:
- A previous job experience in a similar position is necessary.
- Experience in dealership/garage.
- Experience in using modern diagnostic equipment and tools.
- The ability to comprehend technical manuals and repair instructions.
- A real team player with the ability to adapt and build rapport.
- The ability to carry out tasks to the highest standards and meet deadlines.
- Good attention to details.
- The ability to accurately follow written and spoken instructions.
- Capability to work independently.
- Strong customer service skills are required.
- A valid driving license is required.
JOB: Preferably as a sole trader contractor.
SALARY: £31000 per year
HOLIDAYS: 22 days
SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday 5pm -12pm
EXPERIENCE: Motor trade, vehicle repairs and diagnostics.
