Furness College is seeking an ambitious and inspiring Curriculum Leader for Engineering and Motor Vehicle to lead, develop, and grow one of our most vital curriculum areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional with strong subject expertise to make a real impact on learners, staff, and the wider community.
As a Curriculum Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping outstanding technical education, ensuring our provision meets current industry standards while preparing learners for successful careers in engineering and motor vehicle industries.
The Role
You will provide an operational leadership across Engineering and Motor Vehicle programmes, including full time, apprenticeship, adult and commercial pathways. Working closely with teaching teams, employers, and senior leaders, you will ensure the curriculum is ambitious, coherent, and responsive to local and regional skills needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing high quality curriculum provision in Engineering and Motor Vehicle
- Driving excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment
- Ensuring learners achieve strong outcomes and meaningful progression
- Managing, supporting, and inspiring teaching staff
- Strengthening employer and industry partnerships
- Maintaining compliance with awarding bodies and quality frameworks
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a subject¿specialist leader with:
- Strong expertise in Engineering and/or Motor Vehicle disciplines
- Experience of curriculum leadership, programme management, or senior teaching roles
- A passion for vocational education and learner success
- The ability to lead teams with credibility, clarity, and vision
- A commitment to inclusive practice, continuous improvement, and industry relevance

It is proposed that Furness College will merge with Blackpool and The Fylde College from 1st August 2026. If the merger goes ahead as planned any employment that starts after 1st August 2026 will be on Blackpool and The Fylde terms and conditions.

Pay: Up to £47,408.00 per year
