Working closely alongside the salon owner, you'll play a key role in leading our team of 16, driving business performance, maintaining our exceptional client experience and helping us continue to grow.
This is a hands-on leadership role where no two days are the same.
About the Role
As Salon Manager, you'll be responsible for managing your own hairdressing or beauty client column while overseeing the day-to-day running of the salon. You'll inspire the team, support individual development, ensure operational excellence and work strategically with the owner to continue moving the business forward.
This role requires someone who is highly organised, commercially aware and able to balance client appointments with management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of 16 stylists, beauty therapists, apprentices and support staff.
- Manage your own successful hairdressing or beauty column while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the salon.
- Create a positive, supportive and high-performing team culture.
- Oversee staffing, rotas, holiday planning and daily operational management.
- Support recruitment, inductions, probation reviews, performance management and HR processes.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies and health & safety requirements.
- Monitor salon KPIs including retail sales, rebooking, productivity, client retention and customer satisfaction.
- Work alongside the owner to identify opportunities for business growth, improve systems and implement new ideas.
- Coach and mentor the team to continually improve technical skills, customer service and retail performance.
- Resolve client concerns professionally while maintaining our exceptional reputation.
- Manage stock levels, ordering, payroll support, budgeting and general administration.
- Support marketing initiatives, events and community engagement to continue growing the business.
We're Looking For Someone Who Has
- Proven experience managing a busy hair or beauty salon team.
- Experience running a successful client column alongside management responsibilities.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- HR knowledge and confidence managing performance, difficult conversations and employment procedures.
- Outstanding organisation and time management skills.
- A commercial mindset with the ability to analyse performance and drive results.
- Strong communication skills with both clients and team members.
- The ability to motivate, coach and inspire others.
- A proactive attitude with a genuine passion for continuous improvement.
- Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy qualifications with at least four years' client experience.
