Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of utility-scale Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Independent Connection Provider (ICP) projects throughout the UK.
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects through the full lifecycle, from pre-construction and procurement through construction, commissioning and handover. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering utility-scale renewable energy projects, including Solar PV developments of 50MW, together with BESS and ICP works. They will have extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams, maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Regular travel throughout the UK will be required.

Duties
- Manage the successful delivery of Solar PV, BESS and ICP projects from award through to completion.
- Develop, maintain and monitor project programmes, ensuring milestones and project objectives are achieved.
- Coordinate design, engineering, procurement, commercial, construction and commissioning activities throughout the project’s construction period.
- Manage project budgets, cash flow forecasts, cost reporting and commercial performance in conjunction with the commercial manager.
- Administer contracts, variations, compensation events and applications for payment performance in conjunction with the commercial manager.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, DNOs and ICPs.
- Chair project meetings and provide regular reporting on programme, commercial performance, quality, health and safety, and project risks.
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, Health & Safety legislation, company procedures and client requirements.
- Identify project risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation measures and effective change control.
- Produce accurate weekly and monthly project reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practice across the business.
Qualifications
- At least five years’ project management experience in utility-scale or large commercial renewable energy construction.
- Proven delivery experience across Solar PV and/or BESS projects through the full project lifecycle.
- Strong commercial awareness, including budgets, forecasting, cost control and contract change.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Good understanding of EPC delivery, grid connections and high-voltage infrastructure.
- Strong programme management, communication, leadership and negotiation skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly.
- Experience of ICP works, grid connections and HV systems.
