About the team and the role
You will be responsible for all aspects of financial controls, leading the financial controls team and all aspects of financial controls reporting. The financial reporting and controls team is integral to driving improvements in the financial controls landscape at Ocado Retail. Key responsibilities will include liaison across the finance function and wider business to review and assess the controls in place and work together to uplift the current environment in response to the additional regulatory requirements. A strong desire to seek continual, collaborative improvement is a necessity.
What you’ll do
Work closely with process owners and the wider business to promote control awareness and accountability and implementation of improvement recommendations.
Assess and test the design and operating effectiveness of controls.
Present updates in relation to financial controls to senior finance leadership.
Ongoing maintenance and monitoring of financial controls framework and adherence to policies.
Inputting into the vision for future development of the financial control environment alongside increasing automation.
Project management to ensure the ongoing implementation of areas of action raised by external/internal Auditors or internally.
Line management responsibility of financial controls associate, alongside responsibility for the BAU controls regime
Who you are
Qualified ACA/ACCA
Experience of assessing financial controls either through audit engagements or from roles working in industry
Experience of implementing and/or monitoring a financial control framework
Strong communication skills which can deliver both key points to senior management and also break down requirements and areas for improvement to non-experts
Project management experience including dealing with multiple stakeholders
Desire to assess and challenge effectiveness and optimise financial processes to drive change
A “can do” attitude, proactive in seeking solutions and implementing change
