Upton Coaches is a trusted, independent, family-run company with over 30 years’ experience in school transport, private hire, day excursions and tours. We are known for providing comfortable, reliable journeys in a modern fleet.
We are seeking a reliable, friendly school bus driver to join our team from September 2026, with both part-time and full-time hours available. The role includes home-to-school contracts, with the option of additional hours on school trips, private hire work and day excursions.
From 15 - 35 hours a week.
Competitive rates of pay offered.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses and coach vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Transport students and passengers to designated locations on scheduled routes or special events
- Conduct daily walkaround checks to ensure vehicle safety
- Assist in maintaining a clean and well-maintained vehicle interior and exterior
- Follow all company policies related to driving hours, safety procedures, and passenger conduct
Requirements
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Category D or D1 licence required (without restrictive codes)
- Driver CPC card
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Enhanced DBS Check (we can assist with obtaining this)
- Good driving skills
- Strong safety awareness
- Good customer service skills
- Reliable
- Able to be flexible
- Excellent punctuality, communication, and a smart, professional appearance.
- Work well in a team and independently
- At least 1 year of coach or large vehicle driving experience (preferred)
- Working from TA4 2HX or Wellington TA21 9
