Join Our Team as a Chef/Cook at Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Centre
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Chef/Cook to join our kitchen team on a part-time basis, working 20-25 hours per week.
This role offers a flexible rota designed to support the needs of the business. Shifts will be scheduled to provide cover during busy service periods, weekends, annual leave, and staff absences. Rotas will be planned in advance, with flexibility required to meet operational demands.
This is an excellent opportunity for a chef seeking a part-time role with a varied working pattern in a friendly and supportive team.
Working Hours
Our chefs' core working hours are:
- Monday to Saturday: 07:00-14:30 and 16:30-19:30
- Sunday: 07:00-14:30
Weekend working forms part of the rota and will be scheduled on a rotational basis.
This may include either or both of the following shifts:
- Saturday: 07:00-14:30 and 16:30-19:30
- Sunday: 07:00-14:30
We are happy to consider set working days that align with our core operating hours.
Where candidates can offer greater flexibility, we will also seek to minimise split shifts wherever operational requirements allow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in line with established recipes and menu specifications.
- Ensure all food is prepared safely and in accordance with food hygiene regulations.
- Supervise and guide kitchen staff during meal preparation, providing support as required.
- Maintain a clean, organised kitchen and ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored properly.
- Deliver excellent customer service, interacting professionally and courteously with guests.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook, ideally in a similar role or setting.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, and awareness of allergens.
- A valid catering qualification and up-to-date food hygiene certificate.
- Excellent customer care, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Understanding and empathy towards the needs of young people.
Additional Requirements:
- Two satisfactory references.
- Enhanced DBS check.
- Proof of the right to work in the UK.
Pay: £14.40 per hour
